Curriculum Sports Coach

The candidate will be responsible for setting up competitive fixtures with other coaches to schools receiving coaching and reporting this to the project coordinator, alongside this the candidate will be delivering sports coaching between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm, this will require the completion of planning/assessments and performance trackers to allow schools to log progress.

The role operates as a representative of MNR Coaching and will work with the director(s) and Project Co-ordinator. Will liaise with school sports coordinators/teachers to enhance opportunities for competitive opportunities for schools receiving delivery. Will liaise with school sports coordinators/teachers to upskill and explain session plans to ensure CPD is actively taken up throughout the year.

Responsibilities
– To plan and delivery high quality, progressive coaching sessions throughout the academic year covering a range of sports.To complete assessments, performance trackers and pupil progress report for each individual sport coached in curriculum hours – this information will be presented to the school throughout the year.

– To collect and collate data from schools to show evidence of the range of different athletes the sports coaching is impacting on, this information will be submitted monthly alongside timesheets and invoicing.

– To work alongside the project coordinator to arrange competitive fixture opportunities to schools receiving coaching and also create pathways with clubs within the local area.

– To mentor/upskill teachers throughout the academic year by sharing session ideas/programmes and allowing teachers to replicate skill based practices.

Essential Requirements
Experience of delivering coaching to children in the Primary School age bracket (5-11)
Minimum of 1 x NGB level 2 coaching award or evidence of working towards the completion of it
Holder of Enhanced DBS/First Aid at Work and Child Protection certificates
2 years Sports Coaching experience
Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable
Experience in teaching/coaching in Primary School PE lessons
Multiple NGB level 2 coaching awards including sports that can be delivered in different seasons.
Multi-Skills level 2 coaching award
Experience of coordinating sports/activities within the Primary School age bracket
Sports related degree or relevant subject to the role.
